The Milnes VOICE Programs recognize that not all the work of making art happens on the stage. If you are ready to take the next step in your arts career, our diverse programs provide opportunities for career development in your area.
Participants in the Beyond the Stage program have the opportunity to work alongside Savannah VOICE Festival Faculty and Staff in a variety of roles. They gain first-hand experience in the operations of our educational programs and the 3 week Savannah VOICE Festival.
Participants in each program area are paired with a mentor and may engage in both training sessions and practical experiences in their area of study. Opportunities for one-on-one feedback and reflection are key to the success of each participant.
It is suitable for a range of participants from students just beginning their exploration of a career in the arts to early-career professionals looking to build their resume, and those currently working in the arts who wish to brush up on an area outside their current comfort zone.
Individual profiles vary based on applicant experience and program openings. Students wishing to use participation for school credit or internship requirement should indicate this in their application. Tuition and housing costs may apply to some profiles.

The Milnes VOICE Programs recognize and respect the individuality of all artists. The staff and faculty of VOICE pledge to recognize and call out personal and systemic biases. In our mission to grow the artistic community, judgments will be based solely on a person’s musical potential, ability, and desire to learn and grow in the art. VOICE will do this through the creation of welcoming and inclusive environments and anti-discriminatory practices throughout our programs.
